End User License Agreement
Last updated: March 2026
1. License Grant
Upon purchase, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use Onset Engine ("the Software") for the version series purchased (v1.x). This license entitles you to:
- Install and activate the Software on up to two (2) personal computers
- Receive all minor updates and bug fixes within the purchased version series (e.g., v1.0 through v1.x) at no additional cost
- Use the Software for both personal and commercial projects
2. License Tiers
The Software is available in multiple tiers (Demo, Core, Studio). Each tier unlocks specific features as described on the pricing page. Your license key determines which tier is activated.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
- Redistribute, sublicense, sell, or transfer the Software or your license key to any third party
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software, except as permitted by applicable law
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any licensing, authentication, or copy-protection mechanisms in the Software
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Software
- Use the Software to build a competing product or service
- Share your license key publicly or with unauthorized users
4. Activation
The Software requires a one-time online activation during first launch. After activation, the Software operates fully offline. The license is node-locked to a hardware identifier. If you change hardware, contact support to transfer your activation.
5. Upgrades
Major version upgrades (e.g., v1.x → v2.0) may require a separate purchase or a discounted upgrade fee. Existing license holders will be offered preferential upgrade pricing.
6. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. All intellectual property rights in the Software remain with the developer. Your license grants usage rights only.
7. Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content you create, edit, and distribute using the Software. The developer is not liable for any content generated by users. The Software is content-agnostic and does not impose restrictions on the type of media processed.
8. Disclaimer of Warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
9. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
10. Termination
This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the Software in your possession.
11. Refund Policy
Refund requests are handled through our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy) within 14 days of purchase. We recommend trying the free Demo version before purchasing to ensure hardware compatibility.
12. Governing Law
This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
